LA VALLE FORMAZZA: THE IMPRESSIVE TOCE WATERFALL, RIALE, TASTING OF LOCAL PRODUCTS
Departure from the hotel by private coach for the Formazza Valley (about a 2-hour ride), stopping along the way at Baceno to visit the beautiful monumental church there. Continue on to Formazza to see the magnificent Toce waterfall, Italy’s second highest but by far the most popular, attracting visitors from all over Europe since the 1800s (from mid-June to mid-September only). Then up the picturesque village of Riale and one of the areas where the famous Bettelmatt cheese is produced. Back down the valley with a stop at Crodo, the renowned spa town, with free time for lunch and the purchase of local products.
In the afternoon, re-board for the drive to Oira di Crevoladossola; after a short guided walk around the village to see the church, and the restored communal dairy and mill, visit a winery followed by a guided tasting of local wines paired with typical cold cuts and cheeses from the area.
Return to the hotel by coach.
