THE VALLEY OF THE PAINTERS, THE CHIMNEY SWEEP MUSEUM, THE SANCTUARY OF THE KING AND TASTING OF LOCAL PRODUCTS
Departure from the hotel by private coach for the Vigezzo Valley, beloved by painters for its colourful autumn scenery and by food lovers for its famous porcini mushrooms, ideal as well for scenic hikes and nature walks. Arrive at Santa Maria Maggiore for a guided tour of the picturesque historical center and the extraordinary Chimney Sweep Museum dedicated to this humble trade: the International Gathering of Sweeps from all over the world takes place here every September and attracts thousands of visitors. Free time to enjoy lunch on your own and purchase typical local specialties like rye bread from Coimo, smoked cured ham and porcini mushrooms. Continue on to the village of Re (about 20 mins), home of the imposing Sanctuary of the Bleeding Madonna (Santuario della Madonna del Sangue) and then to
Oira di Crevoladossola. After a short guided walk around the village to see the church, and the restored communal dairy and mill, visit a winery followed by a guided tasting of local wines paired with typical cold cuts and cheeses from the area.
Return to the hotel by coach.
